Learners
Concern that presentations were becoming boring or same. We decided to turn presentations into exhibitions for other classes, colleagues and parents.
In an effort to create a more authentic audience, we invited other people into our classroom to view the presentations. My students and I have hosted exhibitions in which we invite other teachers, staff, parents, businesses and students to visit our classroom or exhibition space.
Students showcase their assessments through various art forms, performances, posters, and videos (even a game). Instead of presenting only to our class the students were able to present to a wider audience, participating in an interactive gallery walk-through of exhibit stations.
It worked brilliantly
Students too extra care in their work, they designed it with their audience in mind. The community and other students saw work that they would no have seen. Students were more creative in their output.
