All participants add their ideas, inspired by virtual events held around the world by local organizers in each city. The city with the most ideas will receive the award for the most creative city.
Students of diverse backgrounds.
We will target the key idea of "Creative of Thought'. We all have different ways of thinking and approaching things and want to broaden what is acceptable and embraced in school/education.
With select school boards in diverse neighbourhoods, target Asian Heritage Month, and other racial groups and share the concept of 'creativity of thought' with school boards.
This would require outlining
1) what is creativity of thoughts;
2) develop an engaging group activity/module to allow students to understand and embrace creativity of thought (e.g. through a video introducing the topic; then through a group activity). For example, what is a problem in the world, and how have different people, environments, and resources brought about different solutions that are all possible depending on the situation and that can be embraced for the ideas brought forward; for example, bamboo is used as a building material in east and south-east asia where this very sturdy and quickly growing grass allows its use as a key building material vs. concrete/steel in NA or other places in the world). This could be a module, or a team project, or part of a speech arts program (i.e. people give talks in the class, and there could be some encouragement to pursue a topic of Creativity of Thought).
The key benefit is to bring about diversity of thought into the creativity equation which is an often overlooked element both in schools and in the workplace.
By leverage key events that target specific groups (e.g. Asian Heritage Month is in May, Black History Month in February or October), you partner with existing platforms, and help to bring focus to an important topic for these groups. i.e. That have a different approach and way of thinking is part of the creativity of thought. Developing skills to discuss ideas where there are different viewpoints foster collaboration, teamwork and can help yield better outcomes.
