Children aged 8-12 years in non-formal learning programs.
A 1-month activity where kids act as Service people (e.g., doctors, policeman, teachers, lawyers etc.) and are then given guidance on what services they should provide for their community members (fellow schoolmates). After that, their schoolmates publicly vote on which services they enjoyed receiving, what issues they ran into, and areas of improvement. The aim is to encourage social responsibility, service and public duty and accountability.
Participatory and fun as multiple participants can be involved in the activity.
Promotes social responsibility and service.
Service people's uniforms/outfits (that can fit 8-12 years).
Teachers conducting Children International - Zambia learning programs such as Aflatoun can implement this.
This idea participatory and fun as multiple participants can be involved in the activity. It also promotes social responsibility and service.
Zambia, specifically Chibolya, George and Kanyama communities.
Yes, teachers in schools are better placed to implement this as they can monitor the 'services' participants are providing, provide general guidance on best practices specific to each service (health, law enforcement, security, etc).
Donor funding or adding the project as component of the programs budget and workplan.
