I have taught in different schools from the primary level through to the Pre-University level and now as a Life Coach and a school proprietor, it has exposed me to the beauty of the mind and its uniqueness in our personality and the way it influences how we learn and interpret information. What I have realized over the years is that the real good students are rather slow in understanding lessons and are afraid to express their thoughts in the classroom. I also noticed the variation in uniqueness in the approach to learning and rate of understanding by students and not that some children are not intelligent. This uniqueness explains the reason one child would not understand what was taught and not do well in an examination as compared to another child, though they were both taught by the same teacher in the same classroom within the same time period.
I believe no normal child is born unintelligent, and even the children born with abnormalities they are very intelligent artistically. So, my curiosity to find out why the school system (teachers) and society including parents brand students who don’t perform well in class and examinations as unintelligent got me to pay particular attention to the learning styles of students.
This curiosity made me embark on the journey of research and through practical teaching to ascertain if it is really true that some children are born unintelligent, hence academically not good, and what measures could be adopted to enhance their learning abilities and skills? The outcome indicates that every child is born intelligent but this varies in levels based on one’s cognitive ability and unique learning style (how the mind processes information when it comes to learning).
If so, what then gave room for the negative tagging in the school system of some children as unintelligent? The answer is very simple. Our teachers adopt generalized teaching (all fit all) approach especially in Africa in delivering the contents of the curriculum without recourse to the unique learning styles and rate of understanding variations of the students they teach. So, the truth is the rote approach to teaching and learning in our school systems has largely affected the majority of students from understanding lessons and not excelling in examinations as well as even in the real world.
The mind of every newborn child is empty and neutral. It only takes the form of what we feed it and how we feed it. The immediate environment and the society a person is born into are what shape the mind of that person and affect how they process data/information which then influences the level of interpretation/understanding one gains. John Locke emphasizes this by stating that “the human mind at birth is a complete, but receptive, blank slate (tabula rasa) upon which experience imprints knowledge”.
The outcome of my research led to the classification of learners into four categories; namely, Gold learners, Zinc learners, Iron learners, and Brass learners. Each category has specific traits unique to how the mind functions and analyzes information. Learning error traits that interfere with their effective learning outcomes and how to assist them to enhance their learning skills and abilities over time.
For a very long time, society continues to unduly punish students for an approach they have no control over and yet are blamed for the outcomes. The essence of this idea is to correct this anomaly and transform this idea into a free product or at a minimal fee accessible globally with just a click by students, teachers, and parents. This unique learning styles module when adopted in our educational setups would greatly improve the quality of education delivery by teachers and properly equip the creative minds of students who are the eventual human resource capital in our various dear nations.
1. It will help the teacher/parent understand how the mind of the child processes information when teaching and learning, come to their level of ability, and then how to help them improve on their learning skills and abilities for academic excellence.
2. Students will enjoy learning in a stress/tension-free environment. This will help low-level ability students enhance their creative abilities and assist fast learners also overcome common mistakes like omissions; they are prone to.
3. It will help develop creative and innovative leaders who are solution and humanity centred. When students are equipped to operate in their natural state of creative thinking, abilities, and potential, they develop a sense of belief and a resolve to make quality decisions and follow them through to achieve expected results.
4. It will be developed into an app or web-based and globally accessible at a free cost to encourage students to pursue higher education instead of dropping out of school because they were made to believe that education is not for them.
Due to the global audience and impact of my idea, what I need is
1. a dedicated website programmer and mobile app developer
2. Hosting and technical support team
3. Marketing support
I have my idea already operational online on www.lordstoneconsult.com/discovery.php (Unique Learning Style) and will love to scale up its impact beyond the borders of Ghana with collaboration from your abled team or an assigned edutech organization when I get the opportunity to win.
Yes, this idea has been operating online since 2020 solely financed by me and my wife. I engaged the services of a web programmer who developed what I call a discovery or an assessment-based website where parents, teachers, and students could by a click easily discover their students' unique learning styles, how to enhance their learning abilities and skills, and eventually remedy their learning difficulties from a child-centered teaching and learning perspective.
For now, I am the only active person driving this creative innovation. The website programmer only provides occasional technical support as and when the need arises at an additional fee.

My idea addresses a major challenge in education globally; the lack of clarity on the part of teachers, parents, and even the students themselves on how uniquely we think and learn and its effect on how we are taught in school. This helps to
1. take away the negative stereotyping of students based on poor academic performance and learning difficulties
2. tailor teaching to suit the learning skills of the learner and specific strategies to enhance their creative abilities over time
3. enhance the natural confidence and decision-making abilities of students to love learning and the pursuit of higher education and careers (this will reduce national and the global school dropout rate significantly)
4. It is web-based and soon would be app-based so that just by a click away in the comfort of their homes, office or school discover the innate learning traits and skills of students/children.
It has already started in Ghana and looks forward to its expansion to other regions and global should I win.
Yes, I have.
I am a life coach with a specialty in learning strategies, behavior management, and career and potential discovery over the past 8 years. I have developed a coaching model which aids to discover how each learner thinks and interprets what we teach them and learn, I resigned from the banking industry to pursue this path of calling, so my dedication towards its impacts and success is very high. I am currently managing my own primary school.
After the online discovery, I further engage clients either on WhatsApp call or video, Zoom, or Microsoft Teams for detailed coaching. I also organize in-person and online training to equip teachers and parents.
I engage the website developer for support services only when there are technical challenges with the website.
I consider this project as my pursuit of purpose and contribution to society, especially for our younger generation, so it envelopes my dedication and commitment to ensure its success and global impacts in the unforeseeable future.
Each discovery comes with paying a token fee to ensure funds for maintenance and hosting renewals. With a supportive team I know we can drive this project to the next level of global impact.

Posté sur 26/05/2022Aaron nailed it all. This is a very innovative idea that will help both teachers and students achieve their educational goals. I hope Aaron's work is the summation of the constructivist approach in which students are allowed to construct knowledge based on their previous experiences The development of soft skills such as critical thinking and problem solving skills among the students is the key components on which Aaron's idea is focused. I hope this strategy will have a great impact on many education systems in the world.

Posté sur 24/05/2022Aaron wrote among the benefits," Students will enjoy learning in a stress/tension-free environment. This will help low-level ability students enhance their creative abilities and assist fast learners also overcome common mistakes like omissions; they are prone to." When a learning approach makes it a joy, learning becomes less burdensome and learners are able to be effective in the learning activity. I believe this is a great asset to his approach. I hope this approach gets the opportunity of being made available across the globe.

Posté sur 24/05/2022This idea is very unique. I wish I had come across this during my early school days. It would have helped me avoid so many mistakes. Nonetheless, I'm happy it will help others avoid the mistakes i made because of how the content has been structured. It's useful in every stage of the educational journey; be it the Nursery or Phd level. This will enable schools to produce problem solvers in societies and countries at large.
