The recent COVID-19 pandemic has identified three critical problems associated with the current agricultural infrastructure which are: 1. There is not enough local production easily accessible to the population without a tremendous effort of distribution and cost, 2. The focus of both chemical and biological agriculture to use primarily macro elements of Nitrogen, Phosphorous and Potassium creates products lacking in sufficent nutrition for the human immune system and 3. The costs for importing soil and plant chemical and biological inputs, drives the producers' and consumers' costs higher, making food prohibitively expensive.
The use of synthetic chemicals for macro based agricultural production creates two significant problems for the human immune system. The concentration of NPK reduces the plants ability to uptake the many hundreds of trace minerals that enables the metabolic system to function well and synthetic chemicals add poisons that perform the same function in the human body as they perform in the soil, kill life. The chemicals blocl metabolic pathways and destroy probiotic gut flora that are used with the whilte blood T cells to hunt and dstroy pathogens.
The focus of biological macro inputs through a few select microorganisms that fix nitrogen, phosphorous and potassium creates the same problems as do chemicals; the plants do not uptake the many soils' trace minerals.
Both are very costly because they are imported everywhere in the world and also because the technology requires a separate input for every aspect of the soil and the plant, such as growth, flowering, stlm structure, fruit color, root protection, pest control and the list gpoes on.
Large scale production growers are now suffering from many fungus and bacterial pathogen issues with banana, African palm, lemon, coffee, potato, cocoa and others due to climate change with excessive rains or droughts. Because the current technology primarily focuses on the macro NPK inputs, with many other herbicides, fungicides and pesticides, most of the beneficial soil microorganisms have been killed. The equilibrium of beneficial microbes is lost and pests attack the plants, whether they are insects or pathogenic fungus and bacteria.
The innovative solution will benefit: 1. All agricultural producers with a lower price cost of production, 2. All consumers who will receive qualitatively better food with a maximum density of nutrition that will fortify their immune systems against many infectious and non-infectious disease, 3. All consumers who have a small plot of land to plant that can use an easy All-In-One agricultural input that will guarantee a quantitative yield and qualitative nutritiontion with each planting of their gardens, 4. All of the environmental ecosystem elements with a regeneration of soil organic matter, remediation of the entire ground water system, preventing all flora and fauna species from dying and slowing down global warming through greater sequestration of carbon and the elimination of nitrogen fertilizers which cause nitrous oxide, 300 times worse than carbon.
The Idea
Produce a laboratory developed biological agricultural All-In-One product. It will contain the many hundreds of soil super microorganisms that will provide plants the needed nutrients throughout their lives for development, growth and pest control. This product will provide the plant with everything it and the soil need. This will provide humans with maximum dense nutrition, at a lower cost, with higher production yields and one easy application.
The Science
The plant lives in a fixed location for its entire life and depends on its hundreds of millions of years of evolved ability to uptake the many hundreds of soils minerals for its metabolic system. This ensures the plant can adapt to all types of climate changes such as rain, drought, wind, temperature, and hail. A healthy plant has no natural pests, can grow to its maximum development and provide all of the micronutrients that humans need. This will guarantee humans a robust immune system that can thwart most viral infections and many noninfectious diseases.
The plant and the soil microbes have a symbionic relationship. Photosynthesis in the leaf produces up to 100,000 unique sugar molecules that are used for the plants energy and the root system. The majority of the sugars are distributed to the radicular root system. Each sugar molecule attracts a specific species of bacteria or fungus. The bacteria and fungus consume the sugars and discharge an enzyme that breaks down the crystalline soil aggregate structure of silt, clay and sand that releases the minerals. They then consume the minerals and then predator nematodes and protozoa consume them. They only need 50% of the newly gained energy and discharge the rest for the plant to up take.
The Solution
Our company, Vida Organica, has developed and verified two key laboratory protocols, Bio Targeting that identifies the critical soil microorganisms and Bio Catalyzation, that replicates them. We have tested the product on many crops that include but not limited to banana, coffee, cocoa, tomatoes, potatoes, beans, corn, flowers, agave, mango, lettuce, peppers and others. In each case we were able to reduce the cost of production, equal or increase yield and always produce maximum nutrition.
With a laboratory we can produce natural biological input that will be mixed with water and an agent to grow the microbes in the water and then sprayed onto the field plants. This can be done every 7-10 days for vegetables and every 3-4 weeks for fruit trees. There is no need for any pest control nor fertilizers. The microbes will provide the plants all of the nutrients it needs and strengthen the defense system sufficient to prevent all pathogens and pests. In addition, with a more robust metabolic system the plants DNA is now able to better adapt to short term and long-term climate change.
The Application
The product can help urban dwellers easily grow and support home gardens. One of the reasons that there are not enough home gardens is because of the complicated technology. When people grow gardens, the easy part is digging up the soil and planting the plants. However, if the soils is not virgin soil with all of the minerals available through many years of the above mentioned processes working naturally, then the gardener runs into problems. They will apply animal dung for nitrogen but that causes disequilibrium in the soils microbe community which then creates an unhealthy plant and attracts pests. They may go to a store to buy inputs and all of those solutions are based on just macro inputs, which also creates problems. The home grower will abandon the project or spend a large sum of money to try to maintain it.
Human Health
People are not dying from COVID-19. They are dying from an overreaction of a weak immune system that drives a cytokine storm against the very same cells that it was supposed to protect. The consumption of food products produced with this technology will save human lives through the production of plant-based foods with the maximum dense nutrition. A healthy organic plant will produce twice the antioxidants and phytonutrients, 40 to 500 % more trace minerals and 2-3 times more probiotic gut bacteria. This will ensure a very robust immune system for the white blood T cells and the gut flora to prevent pathogens from creating a disease in the human body.
In addition, almost 60% of all noninfectious disease is the result of the more than 700 chemical compounds used in the chemical agriculture. These diseases include 35 types of cancer, Parkinson, Alzheimer, type 1 diabetes and autism in children, sexual reproduction problems, metabolic syndrome, allergies and many others.
Environmental Improvement
Because we eliminate nitrogen fertilizers, including animal dung, there will be no nitrous oxide escaping to the upper atmosphere. NO2 is 300 times more capable of holding heat than carbon particles and can live for 100 years. The excess nitrogen that leaks into the ground water system causes cancer in all organisms that consume the water. By adding many thousands of microbes into the soil, the earth is now able to sequester much more carbon, return it to a natural carbon retention cycle. Bacteria and fungus consume almost 45% of their mass in carbon. Many scientists predict that a 2% increase in soil microbes will halt global warming.
By adding significant microorganisms to the soil, there will be a remediation of the soil and the regeneration of soil organic matter. The ground water systems will also see a remediation since the microbes will break down the chemical compounds in the soil and the water. There will be a regeneration of flora and fauna, as well since the agricultural ecosystem will return to its more natural state.
Local Agriculture
All urban and rural dwellers with an easy to apply, all-in-one product that mimics nature and ensures maximum nutrient density the world will see more locally produced food products which will increase family nutrition, reduce family food costs, and increase community collaborative gardens. Families will see a financial improvement in the budgets by 30% or more. A natural biological solution that contains all of the most important soil microbiome in the many thousands solves all of those problems.
Large Scale Agriculture
All farmers will see a significant reduction in costs because it is an All-In-0ne product that does not require as many inputs as the other technologies. Farmers will see an improvement in the budgets by 30% or more. Because an increase in aerobic microorganisms will create more oxygen in the soil, the soil s ability to retain water will be longer requiring less irrigation, which todays requires 70% of all fresh water. As well, by eliminating the synthetic chemicals, that also eliminates the salts that absorb a percentage of the irrigation. Farmers will be able to certify more product organic which will improve their financial situation. Lastly, since there is no need for any chemicals, the standard for organic certification can remove the use of any synthetic chemical from the certification process.
Global Economy
The production, distribution and providing of food is the largest component of GDP. A reduction in the cost burden of food will allow for increased productivity in other critical areas of quality of life needs. The current agricultural industry is almost $1 trillion and can be reduced by at least 50% or more through this simple, yet elegant approach that mimics mother nature.
The United Nations 2013 Trade and Conference Report, Wake Up Before It Is Too Late, written by 50 or more world class scientists stated unequivocally that the world must transition to small shareholder agriculture based on agroecology methods to end global warming, increase fresh water and improve human life. The problem is that no one has a single technological approach that can be used universally. Our proposal is just that, an agricultural technology that can be produced in production laboratories around the world that can transform society and improve the lives of everyone on the earth.

Even if an antiviral is produced for COVID-19, people with weak immune systems can still suffer the same fate and worse, recently it has been discovered that the virus has produced a new strain since March from Italy. This means that multiple antiviral solutions are needed and each one takes 18 months. The only true solution is the human immune system and it must be fortified with real nutritcious food.

The resources required are $1.95 million. These funds are required to buy the land, construct the laboratory, greenhouse and nursery, buy the laboratory equipment and hire the scientists. The most expensive part is the equipment which must be imported from the United States and Europe. We need a DNA sequencer and several bioreactors which are the costliest. Doing this work in Ecuador makes the propsal very cost effective for many reasons.
Vida Organica is currently working with several Non-Governmental Organizations and a state bank. We have received positive encouragement from all of the institutions. They all see the immense value of an organization that will build the future agriculture and at the same time guarantee a sovereign healthy food for the population.

Dr. Cristian Carrera, Business Development is an attorney with experience in coordinating agricultural communities with the execution, monitoring and evaluation of social and economic development projects and also representative of FUNDESA, Ecuador Foundation for Social Development in Latin America and the Caribbean.
The phases of the project are as follows: buy the land, laboratory, greenhouse and nursery construction, purchase of laboratory equipment and importation, hiring of the scientist and technology team, begin the product development, field test, register and patent the product, sell and distribute.
The first phase is to buy the land that has already been identified in a rural area with remote access for security. This is a one-week process.
The second phase is to design the buildings et the required permits and begin construction. This is estimated to take a rapid four months using steel shell, concrete external walls and glass internal walls.
During the same four months equipment will be negotiated and purchased for shipment in a just in time delivery of the completion of the main laboratory.
During the same four months interviews will be conducted for two teams of scientists and technologists. They will consist of botanists, biotechnologists, microbiologists and agronomists. There will be two teams working on a general product and a crop specific product. The general product is to be used by all small shareholders, gardeners and all consumers that will receive a dense nutrition product that will fortify their immune systems. The specific crop product of a banana solution is to help the local economy of Ecuador and other banana exporting economies throughout the world.
Once the products have been field verified registered and patented, they will be mass produced and sold or distributed. In Ecuador the sales will be both direct and indirect. The global strategy for the general product and the crop specific banana product are to form strategic alliances with in country laboratories for rapid market acceleration for consumers all over the world.
The word agriculture is exactly as the Latin roots imply, “agri” is Latin for the using the soil to provide foods for all of society and “culture” is societal aspects that surround the technology, which includes almost 50% of all Gross Developed Product, human nutrition, and environmental ecosystem protection.
Developing this innovative regenerative organic nutritional agricultural technology will have the greatest, single impact on the future of human society.
The initial phase is to produce and distribute the products in Ecuador.
The second phase, within one year, is to distribute throughout South America and Mexico.
The third phase is distribution throughout the world.
In Ecuador all distribution will be done directly to agricultural communities in all provinces, direct sales to individual farms and indirectly through distribution channels.
In the second phase for distribution throughout Latin America, we will form strategic alliances with existing laboratories in-country. Manufacturing and selling abroad is costly and inhibits distribution. The best approach for farmers and consumers is to have the product produced locally. We will use the patents to provide a license for manufacture and distribution in the respective countries. The money we receive will be used to organically grow the crop product portfolio. The money that in country laboratories receive will be used for marketing and sales. Everyone wins.
The same model will be used for the other continents throughout the world in the third year.
Both Sheldon Caref and Saul Molina have dedicated the past 10 years to this innovative technology, constantly improving it, testing and verifying the application with multiple crops in Ecuador.
Dr. Saul Molina began his work in a remote region of Ecuador, Intag, where he had a simple laboratory to trial and test his super microbes for coffee, roses, cocoa and other crops. Saul has also investigated the best methods to sequester carbon in Europe and developed experience in biological protocols to prevent crop pests.
Sheldon Caref spent ten years investigating the best technology for all of the crops on his farm. He used the work of Saul Molina and Dr. Elaine Ingham of the State of Washington, US. who is the worlds foremost authority of soil microbiology. Sheldon also dedicated his time to writing books, pamphlets, teaching small shareholders farmers and university students in regenerative organic nutritional agriculture.
The rest of the team have helped Mr. Caref and Dr. Molina in education and operational management of small pilot product development in Ecuador for sales and distribution of artisanally produced products.
The entire team is focused on using this innovative technology to improve quality of life for humans and regenerating the earths ecosystem.
The project is sustainable after the initial phases of development through product sales and distribution. The products will be sold to the market based on ability to pay and below the competition. It will be sold nominally above cost of small shareholders and agricultural communities and at a higher price for individual farmers and large export farms. In this way, there will be sufficient revenue to continue the work organically and produce more crop specific products while also meeting the needs of people everywhere.
The average utilization cost of chemical and biological inputs depends on the crop, however, the range is between $1000 and $2000 per hectare per year. It is always higher for long term crops vs short term crops. The product that we have developed and require a laboratory to produce will cost between $500 and $1000. That is a 50% cost reduction in product. We have already trialed a similar product with fewer microbiology and have seen an increase in yield between 15-23%, a cost savings in irrigation and labor saving in fewer field spray applications since our innovative technology is an All-In-One solution.
We have already had inquiries from many producers in Ecuador, Bolivia, Brazil and Mexico. Farmers are looking for an alternative solution to the intense cost agricultural inputs pushed by the multinational corporations. We are extremely confident that a quality product will gain traction in the market rapidly and be sustainable for years.
In addition, we will market the advantages of organically grown using nutritional agriculture to provide dense micro nutrient nutrition to create a push-pull in the market place.
